Formed in 1985, the Society celebrated its Silver Jubilee in June 2010 – and continues to flourish. The Society was originally founded with the aim of safeguarding the character of the parish of Warnham and this remains a focus for much of our activity. We consider, and where appropriate respond to, traffic management, planning and other issues which might impact upon the parish.

In 2008 the Society played a major part in the production of the Parish Design Statement and Design Guidelines. Although non-mandatory, these guidelines are embedded in the planning process. They are intended not to prevent change, but to ensure that change is managed in ways that are sympathetic to the nature and quality of the environment in which we live.

In addition the Society aims to foster activities beneficial to the parish and, since its amalgamation with the Warnham Historical Society in 2007, to promote the study and dissemination of the history of the parish. We work with like-minded organisations and maintain links with relevant strategic bodies such as the Campaign to Protect Rural England.

In short, the Society’s interests lie in the past, the present and the future of Warnham Parish. For a more detailed history of the Warnham Society prepared for its Silver Jubilee in 2010 click here.
